Bernard A. Milstein, M.D.
Dr.
Milstein is a nationally recognized Ophthalmologist and a pioneer in the
field of Laser Vision Correction. He is one of the original investigators of
the excimer laser to correct nearsightedness. Dr. Milstein is a Clinical
Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Medical Branch at
Galveston where he instructs residents in advanced cataract and refractive
techniques. In addition to being past president of the Texas
Ophthalmological Association, Dr. Milstein is active in the American Society
for Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology
and numerous civic organizations. He serves on the Development Board at the
University of Texas Medical Branch and has served on the Board of Visitors
at Texas A & M at Galveston. He also serves as a board member of the Bay
Area Houston Economic Partnership. As founder of Prevent Blindness Texas –
Gulf Coast Branch, he currently serves on its Board of Directors. Dr.
Milstein was presented the Person of Vision award from Prevent Blindness
Texas in 2000. Dr Milstein received his medical degree from the University
of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and is certified by the American Board
of Ophthalmology. He is the founder of The Eye Clinic of Texas and Director
of the Ophthalmic Laser Center in League City, Texas. Dr. Milstein has
consecutively been listed in The Best Doctors in America book since
1996 and was listed in Texas Monthly magazine as a “Super Doctor”.
