Meet The Staff
Over the past 10 years, we have developed a LASIK team that has become known for
the quality care they deliver to LASIK and Laser Vision Correction patients. The
LASIK team at The Eye Clinic of Texas has worked diligently to produce a solid
program of patient-oriented care for each refractive patient.

Joni Schirmer is the Administrator of The Eye Clinic of Texas. She has
been associated with The Clinic since 1985 and has been involved with
establishing and administering many of the programs currently in place.

Myrna Benson, COA, supervises the technical staff at The Eye Clinic. She
has over ten years of experience working with the excimer laser and directed the
collection of all data used for the historic FDA study, which proved the safety
and efficacy of the Summit Apex Excimer Laser. Myrna has been with The Eye
Clinic since 1974. Any technical questions can be directed to Myrna. |

Mary Jane Caddell is responsible for the management of the Ophthalmic
Laser Center. She schedules all refractive surgeries, monitors the lasers, and
assists in performing procedures. Mary Jane began working at The Eye Clinic in
1987 and has several years of experience in the area of clinical activities and
patient care. Questions about appointments, finances, and other clinic matters
can be directed to Mary Jane. |

Michele Hay is the Laser Vision Coordinator. She is the primary
consultant in educating LASIK patients as well as performing a myriad of other
support functions for the LASIK program. She is available to answer questions
about any of these areas. |

Nora Bessire supervises all office operations for The Eye Clinic of
Texas. She has been with The Clinic since 1978 and has played a key role in the
growth of the LASIK program. |

Barbara Lund joined The Eye Clinic staff in 1991 and has over 19 years
experience in Ophthalmology. She was involved as an ophthalmic assistant in the initial FDA
trials for Laser Vision Correction 1991 and has been an integral part of the
LASIK team for the past 4 years. |

These team leaders, and all of our Eye Clinic staff members, are capable of
answering your questions about Laser Vision Correction and all other aspects of
our ophthalmic services. If they cannot answer your question knowledgeably, they
