Myrna Benson Celebrates 25 Years
Of Service At The Eye Clinic Of Texas
League City, Texas - Myrna
Benson recently celebrated her 25th anniversary as an employee of The Eye Clinic
of Texas (ECT). ECT doctors recognized Benson for her numerous years of
dedicated service by presenting her with an emerald ring.
After working for a local dentist for nine years, Benson joined ECT in 1974
as an assistant, and two years later received her ophthalmic assistant
certification from the Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in
Ophthalmology (JCAHPO). She later completed other courses through the American
Academy of Ophthalmology, The University of Texas Medical Branch's Department of
Ophthalmology and Ophthalmic Education Seminars, Inc. Benson continues to take
JCAHPO home-study courses every two to three years to stay updated on new
ophthalmic trends and techniques.
"In today's world, it is very difficult to find employees that are loyal to
one company for more than five years, much less 25 years," said Bernard A.
Milstein, M.D., founder and doctor at ECT. "Myrna is dedicated to the field of
ophthalmology and has played an important role in our success as a
nationally-recognized clinic."
A Galveston native and current resident, Benson plans to retire in 2002 and
spend more time with her husband, two children and three grandchildren.
Founded in 1972, The Eye Clinic of Texas (ECT) offers the latest in laser vision
correction surgery, as well as a full range of other eye care.
The doctors at ECT were the first to perform a laser vision correction surgery
in Texas in 1991, while the clinic itself rose to fame as one of only 10 sites
in the U.S. participating in the original clinical trials to treat
nearsightedness via laser vision correction surgery. ECT has three locations
located in Galveston, League City and Texas City. For more information, call
