Michael K. Lam, M.D. is a Houston retinal specialist and surgeon at The Eye Clinic of Texas where he provides care for retina diseases including vitreoretinal surgery for retinal detachments & tears, Lucentis® injections for diabetic retinopathy and age related macular degeneration (AMD) and other specialized retina surgery. Dr. Lam grew up in Sugar Land, Texas. After graduating from Clements High School, he attended college at the University of California-Berkeley. While at U.C. Berkeley he earned the prestigious Regents scholarship and a degree in Biochemistry with the highest honors for academic achievement. He returned to Texas to attend medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern. Afterwards, he went on to complete a Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was elected Chief Resident in Ophthalmology. After completing his residency, he returned to Texas for retinal subspecialty training at the University of Texas and Parkland Hospital in Dallas. Dr. Lam has also served as Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch and currently teaches vitreoretinal surgery as Clinical Assistant Professor at the Baylor College of Medicine.
