Michael A. Peggs Sr., M.D.

Dr. Michael Peggs Sr. earned his medical degree from Temple University in 1985. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Mercy Catholic Medical Center. Dr. Peggs was the Chief Resident of the Ophthalmology Department while completing his residency at Columbia University at Harlem Hospital in New York.

Dr. Peggs is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Texas Ophthalmological Society. He is the former Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff of the Matagorda Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Peggs has been in practice for over 25 years. He has a special interest in clear corneal cataract surgery and diabetic retinopathy, and sees patients at the Texas City and Galveston offices
